Elder – Ralph Loper

Ralph and Ruth Loper are home-based missionaries serving with Global Recordings Network (GRN) in the Temecula office.   Ralph, as Finance Director, heads the accounting office in Temecula and is also responsible for handling international accounting duties.  Ruth is a full-time homemaker, mother, and home-school teacher.  She is an encouragement to Ralph in his responsibilities at GRN.  Ruth and their boys pray daily for the ministry of GRN.

Ralph grew up in a Christian home in Greenville, South Carolina and attended First Presbyterian Church during his early years.  He graduated from high school at Ben Lippen in Asheville, North Carolina, where Ralph first heard of GRN.  Joy Ridderhof, the founder, visited Ben Lippen and shared about the ministry.  Later Joy visited Ralph’s parent’s home in Greenville and his church, the Greenville Christian Fellowship.  At age 20, he received the Lord’s salvation at a college retreat.  After obtaining his Finance degree at Clemson University and attending Bible School at the Evangelical Institute in Greenville, Ralph responded in August 1981 to the call of the Lord to serve at GRN in the Accounting office.

Ruth also grew up in a Christian home in South Pasadena, California.  When Ruth was four years old, her mother read her a true story of a farmer who lost his farm due to a prairie fire.  Later, as he assessed the damage to his farm, he kicked a black charcoal ball and little chicks came running out from under the wings of the deceased mother hen. “That night I knew Christ died on the cross for me so that I would live for Him and with Him.  My mother prayed with me to receive Christ into my heart as my Savior and Lord,” says Ruth.

She learned about Global Recordings Network through her parents and from GRN missionaries who attended her church in Los Angeles.  God called her to work at GRN with verses from Hebrews 12:1 & 2 and gave her peace and assurance that this was His plan for her life.  She joined GRN in October 1985.

Ralph and Ruth have two sons, Matthew (05-22-97) and Nathaniel (04-05-00) who both enjoy home-schooling and church activities.

The Loper family started attending Rancho Baptist Church in October 2002 soon after GRN moved its headquarters from Los Angeles to Temecula.  Ralph and Ruth had asked the Lord to lead them to a strong world missions-minded church in Temecula.  He answered their prayers by leading them to RBC.  Ralph has served at RBC as the elder responsible for the World Missions program since January, 2005.  Ruth has served as a Sunday school teacher, the prayer coordinator for the women’s 2011 retreat, and an AWANA leader.

Their life verses are: Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” II Cor. 9:8 – ” And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

Please pray with them that they would be faithful servants who love the Lord, love others, and seek to reach their world for Christ.  Also pray that they would diligently teach their children the ways of the Lord (Deut. 6:7).

Ruth likes to read when she has the time.  She also likes to work in the yard, such as trimming the rose bushes.  She loves to take walks with Ralph in our neighborhood.  Occasionally, Ruth likes to watch charming romantic DVDs with a Christian moral theme, such as “Love Comes Softly’.  Ralph really enjoys the privilege of serving the Lord and His people at RBC.  Some of his interests are tinkering in the garage, washing the cars, doing various fix-it jobs around the house, playing some basketball in our backyard with the boys, taking walks with Ruth, watching college football on TV (especially his Alma Mater, Clemson), and watching re-runs of the “Waltons” and “Leave it to Beaver”.

Verse of the Month

". . . walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3)
