 The Wallace family (2005)
Ken and Lori Wallace are inner-city Church Planters with Mission to the Americas. Specializing in Multi-ethnic Church Planting, they have been instrumental in works in Pomona, Carson, Wilmington, Hollywood, and San Pedro.
In ministering to the hurting inner cities of Southern California the Wallaces have found a need for family-oriented ministry. "While many people may be religious, they are often without the influence of a Bible-believing Church family. Our desire is to win people to Christ, and then show them how to live the Christian life, helping them to discover that Christ is greater than their problems." - Ken Wallace
Recent AdditionAs promised, we are now preparing for the upcoming Prayer Walks through the city of Venice. It is time now to begin in earnest to bathe Venice in prayer. Some of you have expressed a desire to participate in these Prayer Walks, either in actually walking the the city or in praying behind the scenes. Some of you have also let us know that groups within your church would like to take part. At thise time we need to know specifically who intends to participate because we are sending out weekly editions of a 14 Phase Prayer Strategy for those who are participating to begin to bring their hearts, and also prayer for each other and the city. If you could let us know if you or a group would like to participate we will immediately send you out this information.
The harvest is ripe, thank you for standing with us to go out and reap these souls for our Great God and His Eternal Kingdom.
In multi-racial Church Planting the needs are constant and many times overwhelming. The supportive partnership with faithful brothers and sisters often makes the difference between success and failure. These partnerships, whether they are with individuals, small groups, whole congregations, families...are Invaluable.
Inner-city Church Planting work is not very glamorous, and is chronically under-supported. Your monthly financial contribution of any amount would make a tremendous difference.
One constant of inner-city life is hunger. Food drives by small groups, families, or congregations are always welcome.
Mentoring - A Christian brother or sister that is willing to mentor a child is a powerful thing. We have had several cases in which one of our youths would not have made it out of high school if not for the caring mentoring of a concerned brother or sister. Even showing a child the life that exists outside of the inner-city is a powerful motivator.
Special Outings - Invite a group of our youth to a special event: a go-cart day, miniature golfing, a day at the beach...it could be anything!
Adopt A Family Or Child - Your small group might want to remember a special child on their birthday or graduation or some other occasion. A group might want to help a struggling family. Any connection with a brother or a sister means a great deal when your needs are so great.
Donations - Sports equipment, games, computer software, stickers - anything!
Pray - Pray for our family and ministry. We covet the prayers of our faithful brothers and sisters.
Donate Services - Talents that you possess might be very valuable to ministry! Do you take professional quality photographs? Do you silk screen? Can you teach a musical instrument? We need YOU!
