Spring Session 2008! Rancho Baptist Church is a family. And as a family, we need each other! And one of the best ways we can come together as a family is through a Home Fellowship. This is where relationships can go to a deeper level. So if you're looking for a place to know and be known, then please take time to read this page and consider getting plugged in!
How Important Are Home Fellowships? We consider Home Fellowships to be a central part of our ministry. They are the place where friendships happen as we encourage, support, and challenge one another. We believe that meeting together on a regular basis is time well spent. God doesn't want any of us to be left to walk alone - we need each other.
What is a Home Fellowship?A Home Fellowship is made up of 10-16 people who meet weekly to share, to pray, and to support one another in their Christian lives. Each group is led by a leader and/or a host couple. A typical meeting lasts for an hour and a half, followed by light refreshments.
When and Where Do These Groups Meet? Our Home Fellowships meet on various days and nights of the week in homes throughout the community.
How Long Does A Group Last? Each Home Fellowship session lasts 8-10 weeks. Basically, we've broken the year into three sessions. At the end of each session, you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or even taking a break. We expect most groups to stay together throughout the entire year. Home Fellowships do not meet mid-June through August.
Which Group Should I Join? The choice is yours. Most people may find a better fit when they share common interests, backgrounds, family status or similar aged children. Also remember, sometimes it might take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit. But don't worry, you'll find it!
What Is The Required Commitment?Joining a Home Fellowship requires a 10 week commitment to attend Sunday services and the weekly meetings. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts, and other special events, but not much more! Commitment is the key to strong relationships and healthy groups.
What About Childcare?A couple of our Home Fellowships will allow for children to come and participate (depending upon age). Others coordinate childcare for the whole group. Still, other Home Fellowships are for adults only.
What Will Be The Focus?Group discussions are based on the previous weekend's sermon. Our Home Fellowships are built upon what we'll call a "Lecture-Lab" model. If you imagine the weekend sermon as a lecture on Christian living, then the group meeting is a lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and discuss how the sermon works out in real life.
How Do I Sign Up?Once you have reviewed this page and decided what group might work for you, simply complete the Sign-Up Form. Turn the form in to the church office or place it in the offering. Do not delay. The groups may fill up fast and the sooner you register, the more likely you will get your first choice. (Note: Those enrolled in a group last session will have priority enrollment if they choose that same group for this session.) Prior to your Home Fellowship starting, you will receive a call from your leader or host with information about your first meeting.
